Jim Denney was born and resides in Alexander City, Alabama. Jim attended Central Alabama Community College and the University of Montevallo. From a young age Jim showed an interest in drawing and painting with wildlife being the primary focus. Jim was hired as a graphic artist for a fortune five hundred company in 1992 using his talent and creativity to develop graphics for sportswear and apparel. Following that he started his own freelance business consisting of fine art, graphic art, and photography. Jim has won numerous awards for his art over the years. He won the Alabama duck stamp competition in 2007 and 2011. Other top awards include Best of Show in the Alabama Wildlife Federation Art Competition in 2009 and 2010, and Best of Wildlife division in the Energen Corporation "Wonders of Alabama Art" show in 2011 and 2013. Jim is very diverse in his artistic mediums using acrylic, watercolor, pastel, oils and is an avid photographer. He has also won awards for his wildlife and landscape photography. His clients have included Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, Bass ProShops, Cabela's and Mack's Prairie Wings. Jim is married and lives with his wife Barbara on beautiful Lake Martin.
